Frequently asked questions

What is LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning was formerly lynda.com, an on-line education and professional development platform with professionally produced courses covering many topics including business and soft skills, technology, software, creative, and construction management (where my courses live). All courses are professionally produced. This is not a self-publishing platform. Most courses include assessment questions, handouts or exercise files, and downloadable certificates. Does LinkedIn Learning offer continuing education credit?

Continuing Education is professional learning that entitles the learner to credits they can use to maintain a certification or license granted by a third-party organization. LinkedIn Learning is proud to offer approved Continuing Education courses aligned with the following organizations’ Continuing Education requirements:

  • Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
  • Human Resources Certification Institute (HCRI)
  • International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)
  • National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)
  • Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
A number of my courses in the Construction Management series are accredited for PMI continuing education. In addition, after completing courses on LinkedIn Learning, the user can download a certificate of completion from LinkedIn and add the course to their LinkedIn profile. For more information, click here to read the LinkedIn Learning help site article.

How do I get access to courses on LinkedIn Learning?

LinkedIn Learning is offered as a monthly subscription service. Subscribers can watch any of the thousands of courses available in the platform while their subscription is active. Most courses are also available for indivual purchase, which allows you to watch the course any time. You can check it out by clicking here to subscribe for free for 30 days. In addition, all premium LinkedIn members have access to LinkedIn Learning. Premium members are people with paid LinkedIn subscriptions that can include Sales Navigator or Job Seeker accounts.
